Drugstore vs. High-End: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder
SO, I made a youtube video- ahhh scary! But, in the video I compare two of my favorite products that are very comparable, but very different in price!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Luminous Light
vs.
Wet N' Wilds Bronzer Reserve Your Cabana
The Wet 'N Wild: Reserve Your Cabana Bronzer is a reasonable $4
The price is much more right!
Watch the video to see more of my thoughts!

Blue Brown BOLD!
I was recently watching a tutorial and fell deeply, madly in love with a MAC pigment, Blue Brown. It was love at first sight, I was literally having dreams about it!
It was like:
So, after 2 weeks of wishing I forked over the $21.00 to get my first MAC pigment.
It was like:
So, after 2 weeks of wishing I forked over the $21.00 to get my first MAC pigment.
Primer: MAC Painterly Paint Pot
Left: Primed with MAC Painterly, Right: No primer
Left: applied wet w/ primer, Middle: Primed w/ primer, Right: not primed
This is an application with a quick swipe over the eye, with no other shadows used.
I find this shadow so intriguing/exciting because you can create several looks in one, because of the reflective pigments! It has a frosted finish, with hints of matte rusty brown when spread thin. This pigment can be applied wet, dry, as a liner, and can also even be mixed into clear nail polish creating you're own shade!!
First Impressions:
1. A little tricky to apply being a loose powder (of course).
2. Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. Use a light hand a first, it is veryyyy easy to over do
4. When over done, it turns into a rusty brown... which has the potential to be really pretty if done right!
Overall:
I can not wait to play around with this pigment to get some new and different looks :)

Makeover a Day with Makeup
Do you ever have days where you feel like you could rip your hair out, or someone else's hair?
Yeah, I had one of those days...
So, even on days when you don't have the energy to put on your full face (like me today, and yesterday... and yeahhhhh probably tomorrow too), or the tears wash it all away- embrace who you are, and be the person you want to be each day. On those days you don't like who've you've become, remember you always get a fresh face the next day!
Favorite product of the week:
Rimmel's Stay Matte Foundation! I found this 50% off at Walgreens last week for about $2.60 (holy crap- steal!), and I just can't get enough! It gives such a natural finish, but also a full coverage foundation. It is very easy to apply, I have been using a tapered foundation brush- although, it is very thick so you'll need to clean whatever brush you use regularly. It can cake a tiny bit throughout the day, but since it is a mousse it is easily corrected by just blending it back into the skin. I have never been so excited about a foundation, just lovin' it!
Hope you are having a good day, more importantly, an even better tomorrow!

Bold Burritos...and Nails
When it comes to my nails- it never seems to matter what brand-whether it's a $1.99 Wet and Wild Megablast or a $9 OPI polish- it chips within 48 hours (if not less)!! I will admit I am rough on my nails with daily activities like cleaning, scratching, and overall just being a normal human being! But, as a person who loves fresh set of glossy nails, there is nothing more frustrating.
BUT, my newest (and extremely life changing) discovery in the beauty world is the Orly Bonder rubberized basecoat nail polish! This base has a rubber adhesive that allows the nail polish to bond to the nail. It retails for $8.50, and you can pick it up at CVS, Walgreens, or Ulta.
This basecoat has revived my love for nail polish, and made me excited to use my new and old polishes.
With my first use of this product I used an Essie mint green shade.
I'm sorry for the bad quality photo, this was just a random shot I sent to my sister... because that's what we do in our free time :)
Anyways, this was day 1...
One week later, whilst enjoying my delicious Chipotle burrito (and yet again, another picture sent randomly sent to my sister)...
Like I said- I wasn't planning this blog post and didn't take appropriate photos, but you get the idea. It had barely any chips only along the top edge where I use/abuse my nails the most. For me, one week of solid color is a nail miracle, I've only had this happen when I've spent money on manicures. If your nail polish normally lasts that long, I could picture it making your polish last a solid 2 weeks.
If you enjoy nail polish in the slightest, go get this product! I promise, you will NOT regret it!
I don't plan to ever let it go!!!!

Necklace Haul!
When to a few thrift stores locally, and also some local vendors at an Oktoberfest event...
First (and FAVORITE) find:
First (and FAVORITE) find:
Vintage brooch turned necklace. I found this at a little store called "The Hidden Pearl" which was filled to the ceiling with Vintage/Antique clothes, jewelry, and trinkets. I love this necklace, and I really think it has the potential to pull an outfit together. I got this necklace for $9.50.
I adore this necklace, mostly because it reminds me of a necklace my grandmother gave everyone in my family. I normally hate cheesy saying, but this one is so discreet I think it works well. I also love the pop of color! I got this necklace from a vender for $10.
And last, I got this beautiful handmade peacocks necklace from a local vendor, she had so many things I wanted I had trouble choosing. She definitely had a lot of trendy cool choices, but I really just loved this piece. I also can't wait to wear it for Christmas with the red and green. I got this for $15. Her work is available on Etsy: pandorascreations.artfire.com
